Driving ATV on desert tours seem easy but there are a number of safety precautions you are meant to consider. It should be noted that ATV  riding  is quite safe, you need not worry, your instructor will always be around to address any issue

Wear a Protective Helmet and ATV Outfit
In riding a  ATV, protective helmet and outfit usage are quite paramount. It should be noted that peradventure this criterion is ignored, there are possibilities that in case of accident, you might get hurt, and worst case – your insurance company might use it as an excuse or backing for not reimbursing you for the damage based on the fact that the incident is self-inflicted due to deviance as regards the normal security protocol of wearing helmets and protective outfit. It is very important to be on the safer side, never neglect the protective helmet and outfit at any point in time. ATV service providers should give you protective equipment and outfit such as hand-gloves, goggles, helmet, and other things.

Consider Travel Insurance
Accidents don’t happen with the prior announcement, they just happen. Planning ahead of unforeseen occurrence is not a bad idea. Be sure to have travel insurance. Although this isn’t a necessary criterion, nevertheless, you can still adhere to it just in case an accident, your insurance company will foot the damage bills, or health bills just in case.

Keep a Good Distance From Others
When scheduling an ATV tour, you’ll be joined by other vacationers with similar interests as you. These people also want to experience all the fun there is to have when riding a ATV. To keep yourself, your companions, and others safe at all times, do make sure to keep a good distance from them when riding.

It’s not uncommon for riders to feel tempted to race one another once feeling more comfortable operating the ATV. However, this could lead to crashes and injuries. To get the most out of your ATV experience, follow all rules given by the tour guide and refrain from riding too close to others.

 Cruise at Safe ATV Speeds
Once you arrive at the ATV tour, don’t hesitate to ask the tour guide about safe speeds vs. unsafe speeds. Driving an ATV at high speeds is an adrenaline rush that many riders love to experience. Although riding at high speeds is common, do be sure you don’t exceed safe speeds.

You want to feel in control of your ATV at all times. There may be tight turns or unexpected turns along the trails. Trying to make these turns at high speeds can be dangerous if you’re unfamiliar with the trail and controlling a buggy.

Stay conscious of your surroundings, let off the gas when making turns, and treat the  ATV like it was your own. Take your time, you can gradually increase speeds as you become more comfortable.

Stay Hydrated and Safe From the Sun
There’s no denying the beautiful weather you’ll find upon visiting, the sun is out and you can feel the warmth of the rays on your skin. As beautiful as this weather is, if you’re not used to the heat and how to stay healthy under conditions of high temperatures, then you could be putting yourself in danger.

Before hopping on your ATV, do be sure to drink plenty of water. Take a jug of water with you as well to stay hydrated. It’s also beneficial to protect your skin from the harsh sun as well.

Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before riding and every 30 minutes after that. You can also wear protective clothing that prevents sunburn.
