Champagne trip stops highlight
Approximately 1.5-hour scenic drive to Reims. The largest city in the Champagne region, Reims holds a sacred place in French history as the coronation site of many of the country’s monarchs.
At the heart of the Moët & Chandon Maison lies a unique experience, a moment suspended in time. Explore the 28-kilometre maze of underground tunnels that form the Moët & Chandon cellars and discover how we make our champagnes – a secret process passed down over the years from one Cellar Master to the next.
Moët & Chandon is the powerhouse Champagne.
It’s the largest Champagne house in the world, producing close to 30 million bottles annually, including its signature Moët Impérial, Rosé Impérial, Ice Impérial (more below), Rosé Ice Impérial, and the Grand Vintage Champagnes, which vary from year to year. The signature style, found in the Moët Impérial, is both fruit-forward and elegant: fleshy soft fruit mingling with delicately nutty cereal notes, all tied together in heaven’s own bubble wrap, the Champagne “pearl” carbonation
The quality of Moet & Chandon champagnes is a result of its unique winemaking process and the unparalleled richness of its fabulous vineyard – the largest estate in Champagne in France, providing Moet & Chandon with access to the most superior and diverse source of grapes.
See the Chardonnay and Pinot Noire grapes on the beautiful rolling hills of Champagne. You’ll walk through a vineyard and learn about the different techniques for growing and harvesting Champagne suitable grapes from your friendly and knowledgeable guide!
The bubbly stuff is the reason most people visit Champagne, drawn to the vineyards and cellars of the region’s capital, the cathedral city of Reims. Some of the most extravagant champagne houses are here, the caves beneath them notable for their vaulted ceilings and kilometres of bottles.
Here you’ll meet Stéphane an authentic, and charming, vintner (winemaker) of Champagne. He’ll walk you through the entire process of making Champagne and let you get up close to the wine press and racks of champagne bottles in his cellars. Then you’ll taste 3-4 different Champagne wines with him. You might go to an other small producer of Champagne on the day of your visit, we’ve got few partners and they are all very nice to visit and taste !
Journey back in time on a guided tour of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Reims, a monument of French Gothic art and architecture where many of the kings of France were crowned.
